Originally born in Moscow, Russia, I moved to the States in 1992 and have lived in the South, West, and East coasts. Growing up in Memphis, Tennesse, I was exposed to the rare and rich Fine Arts Program at my high school, where I was named Fine Arts Student of the Year and garnered a number of awards including a Student Emmy for the school’s morning news show. I was also selected as one of 100 students in the US to participate in NFAA’s Art Talent Search Program for my first short film Noel. The only thing I missed out on were the football games. I tried to catch up at USC by going to at least one game, but then figured that having to listen to the marching band practice outside my dorm window every other day more than caught me up on the experience. Go Trojans!

Either way, USC gave me the chance to live in Los Angeles study cinema and graphic design and meet wonderful people. I just recently graduated and am now freelancing as an editor and graphics designer in New York. And my travels are not over yet. My most recent project, the post-Katrina documentary After the Storm takes place in New Orleans. I am the associate editor on the film and am working on it with the Emmy Award winning editor Bob Eisenhardt.

In my free time, I try to cultivate cross-cultural force fields of consciousness and positivity by meditating, practicing Bikram Yoga, reading, feeling, living, and hosting couchsurfing travelers in my Long Island City apartment. They great to remind me of the world outside my dark editing bay.
